West Chester Gymnastics Team Makes It to Finals, with One Gymnast Landing a Win at National Championship

The West Chester gymnastics team made it big when they qualified for the 2024 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships.

The team of gymnasts at West Chester University made it big recently when they qualified for the 2024 USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate National Championships, write Alicia Roberts and Scott Jacobson for CBS News Philadelphia.

The team competed against Division I schools as a Division II participant and ended up in fourth place, the best finish in WCU’s history at the USA nationals.

In addition to that win, junior Jordan Coleman became the second student in the school’s history to win on the uneven bars with a score of 9.875. She was named a USAG All-American for the second year in a row.

“It just means all my sacrifice and hard work — it was all worth it,” said Coleman.

Head coach Barbara Cordova called Coleman’s win and the school’s place in fourth as a huge accomplishment. A teammate said that just being there matters and they’ve set the bar high for themselves so they’ll be back better than ever.

“Go big,” said Coleman. “Don’t hold back ever.”
