Reese Littlewood, an East Coventry resident and Owen J. Roberts junior, is headed to the 2022 CrossFit Games as one of only 10 qualifiers in the girls’ 14-15-year-old division, writes Austin Hertzog for the PA Prep Live

The achievement is even more impressive knowing that the 15-year-old gymnast only started participating in CrossFit 18 months ago.

Littlewood discovered the high-intensity exercise regimen that has become a fitness phenomenon over the last 15 years during the pandemic when lockdown put her competitive gymnastics career on hold.

She joined Iron Cross Athletics in Phoenixville and began working out with owner John Warnek. A year and a half later, she is ready to show off her progress at this week’s competition being held at Alliant Energy Center Coliseum in Madison, Wisconsin.

While she may have discovered CrossFit by necessity, the teen believes she lucked into finding such a perfect fit for herself.

“It’s like the best community ever,” said Littlewood. “Everyone is able to do the same thing which is to come in here and work hard and get better. I love that everyone is always so supportive of each other.”
