Two managers from Hankin Group – the award-winning, Exton-based developer of distinctive commercial, residential, and retail properties – were among the featured panelists at a Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) event that discussed the impacts and challenges of property management as a result of COVID-19.

Glen Cooper, Hankin Group’s Commercial Property Department Head, and Dawn Filipello, Hankin Group’s Commercial Property Manager, were among a lineup of prestigious property management and real estate professionals.

Cooper and Filipello discussed COVID-19 re-entry protocols, tenant relations, and new building operation standards implemented across Hankin Group properties. When asked about preparing the buildings for re-occupancy, Cooper said, “It was extremely important for us to adhere to the CDC guidelines. We took numerous steps to ensure our tenants’ health and safety by preparing our buildings adequately and efficiently.”

To combat COVID-19, Hankin Group issued social distancing protocols and required personal protective equipment to be worn at all times in the common areas of its buildings. Hankin Group also installed hand-sanitizing stations, NanoSeptic Continuously Self-Cleaning Surface door handles, elevator buttons, and small hand towel dispensers. Also, Cooper and Filipello contracted more employees for enhanced cleaning and disinfection in high-touch areas and placed signage on main entrance doors advising employees and visitors of the preventative guidelines set in place across the properties.

Other panelists at the virtual event shared their individual COVID-19 plans and discussed in detail what is working and what is not working. Ultimately, those who attended the event gained valuable tools to improve a safe return to the office for their tenants.
