Kennett Square-Based Real Estate Developer Partners with Pizza Chain to Buy Storefront Property in Rehoboth Beach

Onix Group, a real estate development firm based in Kennett Square, has partnered with Grotto Pizza to buy the Dolle’s Candyland property in Rehoboth Beach for $6 million, writes Katie Tabeling for the Delaware Business Times.

The acquisition includes the storefronts that stretch from Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard to Zelky’s Beach Arcade. This gives Grotto Pizza, which already owns property north of Dolle’s, the frontage on one of the most-frequented stretches of the city’s boardwalk.

Grotto Pizza now plans to move one of its restaurants into the former Dolle’s Candyland storefront after its current leases expire.

“We are excited to be able to acquire this property,” said Grotto Pizza founder Dominick Pulieri. “Grotto Pizza has not yet developed specific plans for the property. We’re thankful for the opportunity to relocate our business to a location that’s so memorable to all who live, visit, or work in Rehoboth Beach.”
