Hankin Group, the Exton-based developer of distinctive commercial, residential, and retail properties, has announced that Keva Flats has been awarded LEED Gold.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence.
Keva Flats – Hankin Group’s newest luxury apartment community located in Exton – consists of five buildings, which include 242 apartment units and amenity spaces.
“Each new LEED certification brings us one step closer to revolutionizing the spaces where we live, learn, work, and play,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, CEO of the USGBC. “Transforming our buildings and spaces happens one project at a time. Hankin Group understands the value of LEED and has shown extraordinary leadership in reshaping the market.”
The certification speaks to Hankin Group’s continued commitment to sustainability.
Hankin’s Lance Hillegas, the Vice President of Sustainable Development and Design, and Laura Maiale, the Development and Sustainability Manager, were instrumental in the certification of Keva Flats.
“Hankin Group has always been committed to sustainable development,” said Maiale. “Keva Flats is no exception. We take pride in constructing residences that are energy and water efficient, thermally comfortable, and constructed with environmentally friendly and locally sourced materials. Residents can see and feel the benefits of living in a LEED Gold residence. This certification provides Hankin Group recognition for the care we take in the quality of our built communities.”
Through design, construction, and operations that improve environmental and human health, LEED-certified buildings like Keva Flats are helping to make the world more sustainable.
