2025 VISTA NextGen Superstars: Lauren Morton

Lauren Morton, Occupational Therapist at The Arc of Chester County, joins the 2025 VISTA NextGen Superstars.

Lauren Morton, an Occupational Therapist at The Arc of Chester County, has dedicated her career to helping children reach their fullest potential.

Born and raised in Warminster, Morton’s journey into occupational therapy began with her first job at Dairy Queen at the age of 16. Since then, she has pursued an impressive academic path and established herself as a leader in early intervention services.

A graduate of William Tennent High School, Morton went on to earn dual undergraduate degrees — a bachelor’s in Psychology and a bachelor’s in Exercise Science — from West Chester University. She then obtained her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (DrOT) from the University of the Sciences, now part of Saint Joseph’s University. Today, she is a registered and licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L) specializing in early childhood development.

In her role at The Arc of Chester County, Morton provides individualized coaching and therapy for children from birth to six years old. She works closely with families and caregivers, crafting treatment plans for children with a range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, and Orthopedic Impairments. A significant part of her job involves mentoring and supervising fieldwork students, helping to shape the next generation of occupational therapists.

“I thoroughly enjoy the constant team collaboration in helping children and families meet their goals and developmental milestones,” Morton stated. “I also love being a Fieldwork Educator where I get to supervise, teach, and help shape the clinical skills of occupational therapy students.”

One of her proudest accomplishments is earning the Early Intervention Coach endorsement through a rigorous six-month training program with the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning. This certification highlights her expertise in coaching caregivers and families to support child development using research-based, evidence-driven practices.

Beyond her career, Morton finds inspiration in Ashley Long, a dedicated advocate for the neurodiverse community.

“Ashley has been my sounding board and confidant for years,” Morton said. “Her passion for providing equal opportunities and access to individuals with disabilities has been a major driving force in my own commitment to this work.”

When she’s not working, Morton enjoys dining at Nectar Restaurant and Lounge in Berwyn.

Morton and the rest of the 2025 Class of VISTA NextGen Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 8 at the Penn State Great Valley Conference Center.
