2022 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Adam Lamb

By

Adam Lamb, a native of Tampa, Fla., is the Chief Executive Officer of the Brandywine Valley SPCA, a West Chester-based organization that aims to end animal suffering and involve the entire community in the welfare and well-being of animals.

Lamb began working when he was 18 years old as an Animal Control Officer and realized another way to help animals is to help people.

“I wanted to find ways to assist people with pets who just need a little support — whether it’s education or resources like pet food — so they can care for their special companions,” he said. “Pets don’t end up in a shelter when they have a person who loves them.”

Lamb credits Sherry Silk, CEO of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, for having the biggest impact on his career due to her endless support in helping him grow into a leadership position.

“I’m most motivated by finding new ways to help pets and their people,” Lamb said. “We’ve grown the organization exponentially in my time here, both in the size and scope of our services. We’re now at a stage where I’m able to mentor other shelters across the country to help them improve lives saved through progressive sheltering programs.”

His proudest professional achievement was being involved with the Best Friends Animal Society to make Delaware the first “no-kill” state in the country. At least 90 percent of all the pets in the care of Delaware’s shelters have positive outcomes.

His favorite Chester County restaurant is Teca in West Chester.

Lamb and the rest of the 2022 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration held outdoors on Tuesday, May 10 at Penn State Great Valley. The in-person event will feature food trucks, drinks, touchless registration, a VIP tent, and boundless opportunities to network. It will also be live-streamed.

Sponsors are still being sought. Click here to learn more about the various opportunities available to partner with VISTA Today as it celebrates Chester County’s next generation of leaders.
