Eagles rookie DeVonta Smith, a first-round draft pick who won the Heisman Trophy last season at Alabama, has taken an equity position in West Chester-based LifeBrand. He will become a brand ambassador for the technology company and its social-media protective services.

John George reported the deal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.

Smith will use his social media platform to introduce LifeBrand’s technology. His followers will receive exclusive offers to try the company’s products. They can also connect with him during LifeBrand-sponsored appearances and events.

“DeVonta is an incredibly talented individual with a strong digital footprint who understands the importance of maintaining a positive brand on social media,” said T.J. Colaiezzi, LifeBrand’s CEO. “We are ecstatic to have DeVonta join LifeBrand as an equity stakeholder and brand ambassador.”

This is not LifeBrand’s first deal in the sports world. The company also brought on former Eagle Trent Cole as a company ambassador earlier this year.

LifeBrand was founded three years ago. It specializes in building and protecting personal and corporate brands on social media.
