To ensure his business survives the pandemic, George McLoughlin, the owner of Tasty Table Catering, has opened a new retail market in Berwyn, writes Caroline O’Halloran for SAVVY Main Line.

When the coronavirus outbreak began, McLoughlin’s catering business went dark. With no corporate events, weddings, or meal deliveries to area offices, he soon realized he would have to think of something if he were to keep at least some of his 14 staff members employed.

Since his clients have often asked him to open a shop where they could enjoy his food throughout the week, he decided this was the way forward.

Before long, he had turned the front rooms of his building on Leopard Road into a food market complete with cozy eating space. And by late July, Tasty Table Market & Catering was officially up and running.

The menu includes a selection of salads, entrée meals, sandwiches, and other delicacies. There are also vegan, keto, and gluten-free options.

Prices are very reasonable.

“We’re giving the Main Line an alternative to costly meal packages and takeout,” said McLoughlin.
