New Literary Anthology Offers Personal Essays, Memoirs Written by Local Women

A new literary anthology, Braving Veracity, features personal essays and memoirs written by eight women from Chester County and the Brandywine Valley, writes Richard Gaw for the Chester County Press.

It was the brainchild of Dida Gazoli, a Kennett Square mother who shared her journey after the birth of her daughter in a popular blog.

Gazoli, whose work has been published in The Washington Post and elsewhere, wanted to give other women the chance to tell their stories through essays and memoirs.

“What I found as a memoirist was that braving veracity – having the courage to admit both my mistakes and my epiphanies – was actually inspiring other people,” she said.

She got the final push to create the anthology last year, after teaching a memoir writing workshop to women writers at the Kennett Library.

Now, the 65-page anthology is complete and available to purchase at Amazon. The essays within capture the voices of women who reveal emotional truths about themselves, their families, and their personal lives.
