Wellness Wednesday: Ancient Ingredients, Modern Day Uses

We are seeing a trend with many ancient ingredients and herbs making a mark in modern day uses whether it be essential oils, foods or supplements. I enjoy incorporating them into my lifestyle.

These three are really rocking my world right now!

For thousands of years Frankincense has been used by different cultures but today it is used for many health benefits. It is typically used in aromatherapy but can also help to reduce stress by diffusing or improve skin health by applying topically. I recently started using 100% pure Frankincense oil around our home and it creates a very calming environment.

Ashwagandha is an ancient medicinal herb providing tons of benefits for the body and brain. Studies show it may help lower cortisol levels, reduce stress and anxiety and may increase muscle mass and strength. This herb has done wonders for me as a busy mama always on the go.

Turmeric is known as the Golden Spice and has many benefits. It contains phytochemicals and curcumin and is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. I love sprinkling some turmeric with other spices on my baked salmon.

What are the go to ancient ingredients in your kitchen? I would love to know what you incorporate into your everyday healthy lifestyle.
