Chester County Food Bank Receives $11,500 Donation for New Job Training Program

Chester County Food BankThe Chester County Food Bank has received an $11,500 donation from WSFS Bank for its new culinary arts job training program, FRESHstart Kitchen.

The money will go toward funding the Food Bank’s new workforce development program. It aims to empower low-income residents with culinary arts job training and provide a skill set to help them launch a career in the region’s thriving dining scene.

The program will focus primarily on Chester County, but is expected to benefit the entire southeastern Pennsylvania region. The Food Bank has also launched a new program based on a similar and very successful public-private joint effort in Delaware.

“We are proud to partner with the Chester County Food Bank and support this important jobs training initiative,” said Patrick Ward, WSFS’s Executive Vice President and Pennsylvania Market President.

“We believe the Chester County Food Bank’s culinary arts workforce development program will enable individuals of modest means to gain the skill set they need to launch new careers and benefit from the growing economy.”
