A stunning farmhouse renovation in Chester County combines a family-friendly layout with a unique equestrian spin, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for The Hunt Magazine.
In renovating their fifty-year-old home, a local family sought an accessible layout perfect for their growing family. Thanks to teams at Warren Claytor Architects, Ranieri & Kerns, and Wein Interiors, their dream became a reality complete with a vintage aesthetic and high-end amenities.
The renovation included adding bedrooms, including a guest suite, and a children’s play loft. The redesign also created a more effective flow from the kitchen to family and dining rooms.
For a family of horseback riders, the home renovation also included a practical mudroom. The floor, made of reused bricks, features tiny paw prints selected by each member of the family.
The entrance features a large farm sink for hand washing and cubbies for boots, outerwear, riding gear, and more. The kitchen also features a pull-out gate and a large water station for the family dogs.
As far as interior design and décor, the renovation included adding Americana antiques and artwork. The owners hoped to make use of natural lighting with large doors and glass windows throughout.
Bathroom wallpapers depicts a whimsical fox hunt print. Repurposed wood serves as unique furniture and decor throughout the space to make this local home truly one-of-a-kind.
