AGC Chemicals Anticipates Global Need For Fluoropolymers

Following its corporate vision to “look beyond,” AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. has formed the AGC FluoroCompounds group to focus solely on the development, production, and marketing of fluoropolymer compounds.

AGC Chemicals, headquartered in Exton, is a world leader in fluorochemicals manufacturing with manufacturing operations in Thorndale and warehouses through the U.S.  The firm is a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Glass, a $13 billion multinational corporation and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of glass, electronic displays and chemicals.

Drawing from its extensive global supply chain of resins and fillers, the AGC FluoroCompounds Group can produce any filled PTFE or melt processable fluoropolymer compounds customized to the specific needs of clients throughout the world.

The group also offers a wide selection of off-the-shelf compounds based on AGC Fluon resins that can be used for increased chemical, wear and creep resistance, toughness, lubricity, and thermal and electrical conductivity. All products are manufactured to precise specifications.  The firm also offers service, testing and support.

Fluorocarbons are used as feedstocks, refrigerants, solvents and as blowing agents for insulation plastic foams.

“An innovative feature of the AGC FluoroCompounds Group is our advanced technology center with specialized resources and equipment for product development,” said Gary Eckrote, business director of AGC FluoroCompounds Group.

AGC Chemicals was formed in 2004 in the merger of sister companies Asahi Glass Fluoropolymers USA and AGA Chemicals.  The company says it wants to continue to anticipate new global requirements and create value for customers by remaining on the cutting edge of technology and customer service.
