A West Goshen couple has become the first to complete the Chester County Farmers Market Trail, writes Mike Rellahan for The Daily Local News.
Residents Jim and Lynne Kent won “Ag Swag” bags for visiting the ten designated farmers markets throughout the county.
The Kents visited farmers markets in Phoenixville, Oxford, and West Chester. The couple also visited all other participating markets in communities throughout the county, including Malvern, Berwyn, and Kennett Square.
The Chester County Farmers Market Trail is an initiative by AgConnect, motivating residents to support local agriculture and community businesses. Participants can collect stamps from all ten stops and win the swag bag, an insulated reusable tote.
Residents can start by downloading a virtual map at the AgConnect website. Alternatively, paper copies are available at any participating market.
Participants can then submit their completed map by Dec. 31 to receive the prize.
About the Kents completion of the trail, AgConnect communications coordinator Melissa Harrop said, “the Kent’s enthusiasm embodies exactly what this trail is about—celebrating local food, connecting with farmers, and experiencing the diversity of our county’s markets.”
