Càphê Roasters, Philadelphia’s first Vietnamese coffee roastery, welcomed a special guest when Willistown Township resident and the region’s favorite horror filmmaker, M. Night Shyamalan, stopped by last week with his wife Bhavna for a hot Vietnamese latte and cà phê sữa, writes Hira Qureshi for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
In a video posted on the shop’s Instagram story, the director praised the airy cafe, giving it a ten out of ten rating.
“This was a 10,” he said. “The food, the atmosphere, the drinks – amazing.”
Shyamalan is known for his 16 (so far) films that always leave viewers guessing, from The Sixth Sense to Trap. His love for Philadelphia and its surroundings is well known, and now includes showing love to local cafes.
“@m.night is a 10/10 human being and also has incredible posture,” said the caption of the Instagram video.
However Shyamalan’s connection to Càphê Roasters runs deeper than just coffee. Through the M. Night Shyamalan Foundation, he has long supported 12 Plus – an education nonprofit that was founded by Càphê’s Raymond John, which helps high school students pursue college and career success.
Shyamalan stopped by the cafe before a fundraising dinner.
