Charity Poker Tournament Raises $9,200 for Local Families

A room full of players enjoyed this year's Family Service of Chester County's Charity Poker Tournament.

The stakes were high, but the cause was even greater at Family Service of Chester County’s annual Charity Poker Tournament.

With 62 players gathered for an afternoon of strategy, excitement, and giving, the event raised an incredible $9,200 to support local families in need.

This year’s tournament played a critical role in Family Service’s matching funds campaign, helping to match a $25,000 grant from the Foxwynd Foundation for counseling services.

Every dollar raised ensures that individuals and families in Chester County have access to vital mental health support when they need it most.

Held in a lively atmosphere filled with anticipation, the tournament was more than just a game—it was a testament to the power of community.

Players went all in, not just at the tables, but for the families served by Family Service of Chester County.

“This wasn’t just about winning—it was about making a real difference for those facing life’s toughest challenges,” said Mark Butler, Executive Director of Family Service.

The event’s success was made possible by generous sponsors, including MediraRx, Wealth Enhancement Group, Evolution Payroll, and Life Tree Pharmacy.

Additionally, in-kind donors contributed exciting prizes and experiences, including West Chester Golf and Country Club, Applecross Country Club, Concord Country Club, Coatesville Country Club, Touchstone Home Products, AKRR Projects Powerwashing, 9Prime, Saloon 151, Maquina Coffee Roasters, and Senator Carolyn Comitta.

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who participated—whether playing, donating, or cheering from the sidelines. Your generosity ensures that no one in our community has to navigate hardship alone.

With this year’s success fueling excitement for the future, Family Service of Chester County looks forward to next year’s event and the continued support of its dedicated community.
