Sharon Owens is celebrating a 40-year work anniversary as a counselor at Family Service of Chester County. 

The nonprofit counseling and human service agency has been rooted in Chester County since 1947 with a mission to provide life-changing individual and family support.

For four decades, Owens has been a cornerstone of the agency and a steadfast beacon of compassion and guidance, touching countless lives with her dedication to counseling and advocacy.

Her journey embodies resilience, empathy, and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of others.

Owen’s expertise has been instrumental in shaping the counseling services offered, ensuring that families in Chester County receive the support they need.

In additional to counseling, Family Service of Chester County offers case management, youth services, and family programs.

 Through her wisdom, kindness, and sense of humor, Owens has not only helped individuals navigate challenges but has also fostered a sense of community and understanding.

Her legacy is one of profound care and lasting change, a testament to the transformative power of dedication and compassion in the field of counseling.

 Family Service of Chester County was founded by a group of individuals and social welfare professionals on a mission to support Chester County residents who were struggling at the end of World War II with family life, changing societal norms, workplace shifts, and other challenges.

Today, 76 years later, they offer counseling to individual adults, as well as marriage or couple counseling, divorce/separation counseling, family counseling, and counseling for children, teens, and young adults.

The nonprofit also provides housing and medical support and volunteer-assisted rides for patients needing to get to medical appointments.
