Chester County, and Pennsylvania in general, is filled with wonderful small towns to visit. Whether you’re looking for a day away or a new place to live, this Chester County town should be on your list, according to World Atlas.

You may know it as the home of Longwood Gardens or the Mushroom Capital of the World: Kennett Square. Kennett Square is a charming community whose downtown is filled with restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques.

Eat to your heart’s content at places like Talula’s Table, Portabellos of Kennett Square, Sweet Amelia’s, The Naked Olive, and more. Plus, take a stroll around Square Pear Fine Art Gallery to view the current month’s exhibition of paintings. In the summer, there are farmer’s markets to attend, and plenty of other fun events that pop up throughout the year.

Circling back around to one of its most popular attractions, Kennett Square receives thousands of visitors a year at Longwood Gardens. The horticultural wonderland features blossoming displays of beauty, plants and flowers both common and rare, and an impressive conservatory.

Meanwhile, most of the mushrooms consumed in America come from Kennett Square. Producers grow only the finest of mushrooms including, shiitake, maitake, and oyster to name a few.
