The growing popularity of Kennett Square is not going unnoticed by developers, who are happy to answer the increased demand for housing units, writes Jen Samuel for the Daily Local News.
The latest project is currently underway at the corner of West State Street and Mill Road. Two new apartment buildings are being constructed that will include 166 luxury units, along with a parking deck with 192 spaces and a 1,273-square-foot park.
Groundbreaking on the project commenced earlier this summer. The four parcels that make up the property span close to 2.7 acres. Once completed, the apartment buildings will be named The Lofts at State Street.
The developer is Berger. The company plans to add sidewalks as part of the approval process to be built within the borough.
“The pre-construction has begun for the apartments on West State Street between Washington and Mill,” said Kennett Square Borough President Doug Doerfler. “The landscape will indeed be changing a little coming in and out of town, and I do feel it is necessary, beneficial change.”
