Chester County Home to Seven of the 30 ‘Cities’ with the Fastest-Growing Home Prices in Greater Philadelphia

Home prices in Malvern have increased 15.2 percent in the last year.

The pandemic has fueled a real-estate boom in recent years, causing home prices to skyrocket in Chester County, reports Stacker. 

In fact, among the 30 “cities” in the Philadelphia metro area that have seen their prices rise the fastest, seven are in Chester County. 

Chester Springs ranks third with a one-year price increase of $94,790 (17.4 percent) and a five-year price increase of $165,312 (34.8 percent). A typical home in Chester Springs is now $639,980, the eighth-most-expensive city in the area. 

Glenmoore is next at No. 6 with a one-year change of $89,440 (18.5 percent) and a five-year change of $173,227 (43.3 percent). A typical home’s value is $573,622. 

Malvern, at $647,964, follows in seventh place with increases of $85,282 (15.2 percent) for one year and $85,282 (35.1 percent) for five years. 

Exton is at No. 19 with $69,594 (15.3 percent) and $142,351 (37.3 percent) increases, respectively, followed by Avondale at No. 24 with increases of $67,455 (15.2 percent) and $141,116 (38.1 percent).

Rounding out the list is Kennett Square at No. 27 with a one-year change of $66,208 (14.6 percent) and West Chester at No. 28 with a change of $65,847 (13.7 percent).
