Angela Curry, vice president and chief compliance officer at Exton-based Bentley Systems, has been recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal with a Diversity in Business Award, writes Lisa Dukart for the publication.

Bentley Systems is an infrastructure engineering software company with over 5,000 around the world.

Born in South Korea and growing up in the Greater Philadelphia area, Curry has a bachelor’s from Emory University and a law degree from Temple University. Although starting as a lawyer by trade, Curry rose through the ranks over the past 8 years with her time at Bentley from compliance director to chief compliance officer to vice president.

With her leadership, Bentley produced its first ESG report and earned validation for its carbon reduction strategy, leading to recognition from USA Today and Newsweek. She describes herself as “working hard to support our incredible global diversity and inclusion efforts” and placing a focus on improving people’s quality of life due to better infrastructure.

“I hope I will be remembered for being an unwavering and hardworking champion for equity and inclusion both in my personal and professional life,” she said about leaving a legacy.

To rising leaders of color, Curry said that it’s important to “do the work” and maintain your career and development as you strive forward in your profession.
