Uwchlan Residents Have Concerns Over 1.9 Million Square Foot Amazon Project

By

Residents of Uwchlan township are up in arms over a potential multi-building Amazon warehouse. The proposed development would include nearly 2 million square feet of four warehouses on Lionville Station Road and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, writes Sharifa Jackson for 6ABC.

A community meeting with the township’s board of supervisors was so well-attended that it had to be moved to Lionville Middle School. Residents expressed concerns over the warehouses increasing traffic and noise.

“Our biggest concerns are really keeping the neighborhoods. We have lived there for many years and everybody out in that area is on water wells and we’d be sharing that water with a new development,” said resident Jim May.

Other residents have proposed alternative projects go on the property, such as similar warehouses that are not as gigantic as the Amazon development.
