The newly opened Mayday Coffee Shop in West Chester offers handcrafted beverages, tasty bites, and a comfortable space where you can work, study, or take a much-needed mental health break, writes Gina Lizzo for Main Line Today. 

“Mayday means ‘come and help me,’” said owner and founder Austin Piona. “Mayday is all about mental health and really bringing a space for individuals to feel inspired and motivated.” 

The goal of the coffee shop is to put mental health at the forefront while at the same time creating a sense of community. This aim is evident everywhere, including the interior design and the food. 

“I definitely stress the importance of mental and physical health for my employees,” said Piona. “They need to take care of themselves so we can take care of our customers and our community.” 

Craft beverages are made to the patron’s liking. Meanwhile, the menu includes various toasts, salads, sandwiches, and acai bowls. 

There is also a floral shop onsite as well as a tasteful retail section.
