Chester County Couple Uses Unique Method to Keep Workouts Interesting
Susie Hawkins, a library program coordinator at Chester Springs Library, and her boyfriend, Chris Hibbs, started their fitness journey shortly after they met with daily hikes, writes Courtney Diener-Stokes for The Daily Local News.
As the couple, who met at Villanova University, began spending more time together over the last three years, they found numerous other opportunities to incorporate various types of physical fitness into their relationship, reaping many rewards in the process.
Last summer they added bike rides to their schedule, which provided them with another activity to enjoy together.
To keep things moving during the winter, Hawkins gave Hibbs workout dice as a gift for Christmas. The dice tell the couple which exercise to do and how many reps or seconds they should do it for.
“This came about because in colder months I’m getting home at 7 PM and it’s already dark, so we can’t go outside to bike and run,” said Hawkin. “I thought the dice would be fun for a week and we would forget about them, but we continued doing it — it’s really fun.”
