Coatesville Heiress Makes Forbes List of America’s Wealthiest People

Along with seven other billionaires, Coatesville resident Mary Alice Dorrance Malone is one of the wealthiest in the Philadelphia area who made the Forbes 400 ranking of the richest Americans, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.  

Ranking in at Number 284, Malone is the largest shareholder and heiress of Campbell Soup Co. based in Camden, New Jersey. Her net worth comes in at a $3.7 billion. According to a report from the Philadelphia Business Journal in 2014, Malone was once considered the wealthiest person in Pennsylvania.  

The CEO of Bala Cynwyd-based Susquehanna International Group, Jeff Yass lives in Haverford and reigns as the richest person in the region for the second consecutive year. Making the No. 58 on the list, his net worth is $30 billion, which is a 150 percent increase from last year.

His partner and company co-founder, Arthur Dantchik has a net worth of $7.5 billion which earns him the spot No. 104.  

Two other Philly-area big shots made the top 100. Michael Rubin, the CEO of Fanatics, a sports merchandising giant sits at No. 64. Heiress Victoria Mars of candy giant Mars Inc. tied with him at No. 108 last year, but beat him this year at No. 69 with a net worth of $9.3 billion.
