Forbes has released its annual ranking of the richest people across the globe, and four familiar Chester County names have made the cut again, writes Fabiola Cineas for Philadelphia magazine.

The highest ranking goes to Campbell Soup queen Mary Alice Dorrance Malone at No. 460 with $3.9 billion. Mary is the largest shareholder of the company that was started by her grandfather John T. Dorrance Sr., the inventor of the condensed-soup formula.

Close behind his sister is Bennett Dorrance at No. 603 with $3.2 billion. Bennett also sits on the board of Campbell Soup, and owns a 15 percent stake. He’s also a founding partner of the real estate development firm DMB Associates.

The third billionaire with Chester County ties is Comcast CEO Brian Roberts at No. 1,234 with $1.7 billion. Roberts started working for Comcast at 15 as an intern, and rapidly rose through the company, reaching its helm at just 31.

The final entry on the list is Richard Hayne of Urban Outfitters, who ranks No. 1,678 with $1.2 billion. Hayne, who also runs Doe Run Dairy Farm in Unionville, started the company in the mid-1970s. It has now grown into a nationwide chain with more than 200 locations and $3 billion in annual revenue.
