Tuesday with Michael: Dare to Dream – Your Success Depends on It

A life of reaction is a life of slavery. Designing the perfect life is like creating a painting that expresses you fully and completely. We will start at the beginning with a blank canvas and fill it with dreams like John Goddard did back in 1972.

This is your opportunity to crystallize your thinking about the life you want to create. If you want your life to rock and roll you have to kick back and take the time to dream.

Dreams are a very important part of life.  No one can ever accomplish the real purpose of life if he/she doesn’t have the ability to dream.

Dreams are a projection of the kind of life you want to lead.

Dreams can drive you.  Dreams can make you skip over obstacles. When you allow your dreams to pull you, they unleash a creative force that can overpower any obstacle in your path. To unleash this power, though, your dreams must be well defined.

Dreams keep us going when things get tough.  A dream is an anticipated reality.  Dreaming is one of the healthiest things you can do. To unleash its power, though, a dream must be well-defined.  A fuzzy future has little pulling power. Well-defined dreams are not fuzzy. Wishes are fuzzy.

To really achieve your dreams, to really have your future plans pull you forward, you want to turn your dreams into crystal-clear vivid goals. Your brain becomes more aware of everything around you that will lead you to your dreams.  Your reticular activating system is the computer part of your brain that locks onto what you want, your dreams.  Your dreams become stronger than the obstacles in your way.

Desire creates power. Writer Bernard Edmonds said it this way:

“To dream anything that you want to dream. That’s the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself to test your limits. That is the courage to succeed.”

In belief, there is power. Our eyes are opened to opportunities. Our mind lays out the plan. Our courage commits us to that plan. High expectations breed high performance.

Your enemy on the road to success will more likely be complacency, lack of vision, and lack of commitment. When you fuel your desire for something, you energize yourself.  When you have a purpose for living each day to the maximum you are energized. You get up and make it happen on your way to fulfilling your purpose.
