Stoner Inc., a small chemical company in Lancaster County that manufactures high-performance solutions for auto-detailing professionals, had reached an inflection point in its 75-year history when the pandemic hit last March.

At that time, the co-packer Stoner was using for its flagship product, Invisible Glass wipes, decided to focus its business exclusively on meeting the nation’s demand for disinfectant wipes. The co-packer asked Stoner executives if they would be interested in buying a production line from it.

Knowing that it could turn to All-Fill, the Exton-based manufacturer of packaging machinery, for help with this new problem, Stoner declined the offer and turned its attention to bringing the entire operation in house.

By virtue of having a checkweigher on its aerosol production line since the late 1990s, Stoner had already had a business relationship with All-Fill for almost a quarter-century.

“When the new line was being designed and built, (choosing All-Fill) was pretty much a no-brainer in our rush to acquire new equipment,” said Dave Harzinski, Plant Engineer at Stoner.

Harzinski didn’t have to worry about any of the qualifying that he would have had to do with a new supplier, and so he was able to quickly acquire a new checkweigher, filler, and labeler from All-Fill.

“Stoner has a history with All-Fill, and we know that they make quality equipment that would be here in a timely manner,” said Harzinski. “With us being a small company, we want to have as many of our suppliers and vendors within an hour’s reach of us.”
