The Backstage Apothecary, founded by Phoenixville’s Kate Fossner, provides an all-natural path to wellness. It features an extensive line of organic home and body products made using pure essential oils, writes M. English for The Times Herald.

Fossner, who is a stage manager at People’s Light in Malvern, first started sharing her essential oil blends with her tired fellow thespians. She sought to help them relax and recharge during particularly stressful productions.

The blends did their job perfectly, prompting Fossner to slowly start creating an assortment of all-natural home and body products. This then evolved into her business, which is now available online and at the Phoenixville Farmers Market on Saturdays.

The line features handmade body butter, sprays and mists, foaming hand soap, wellness blends, and much more. The products also include pure cotton face masks made by Fossner’s wife, Lily.

Most important, all Fossner’s products use natural ingredients.

“I want people to know exactly where each of these (products) came from, so I don’t use any chemical additives or preservatives,” said Fossner. “I don’t want people looking at a label and wondering what really went into making what’s inside the bottle.”
