120-Year-Old Company’s Satellite Store in West Chester a Victim of the Pandemic
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed another victim, this one in West Chester, according to a report in the Daily Local News.
Jacobs Music Company’s suburban outpost is the latest local business that has announced it will be closing its doors for good.
The Philadelphia-based company is the exclusive dealer representative for Steinway & Sons in the area. But due to COVID-19, it has decided not to renew its lease for its store at 1572 Wilmington Pike in West Chester.
“At first, we were surprised to experience so much interest,” said Bob Rinaldi, Senior Vice President of Jacobs. “We never expected to have so many appointments in one weekend.”
However, things have changed since then, and “if you look at people’s lives today, they are spending much more time at home now, most children are spending less physical time in school, and many are receiving all-virtual instruction,” he said.
So, now, the company has emphasized that it is still dedicated to the area and plans to open another location in the future.
