Krapf Transportation of West Chester and Werner Coach of Phoenixville joined more than 1,000 motorcoach companies from across the nation last week at a rally in Washington, D.C., to raise awareness about the industry and ask the government to provide it with economic relief, writes Donna Rovins for the Daily Local News.

Krapf Transportation has been in business for nearly eight decades. According to Gary Krapf, president of the company, it operates 14 motorcoaches. Part of the company also offers public transportation and paratransit services.

“For our charter side of the business,” said Krapf, “that is completely lost. We don’t know when it will return.”

He said that the company’s motorcoaches are not operating all, “and we feel we provide an important link throughout the year. There is a large investment in that equipment, and with no revenue, that puts a lot of companies in high-debt situations.”
