Coatesville’s first craft brewery, Animated Brewing, owned by friends Steve Orsborn and Jared Castaldi, is ready to officially open its doors next month, writes Virginia Lindak for the Daily Local News.

The spacious tasting room will offer a variety of custom beers crafted on site.

The owners were avid homebrewers for more than a decade before they decided to turn their hobby into a business with a seven-barrel brewing system, tasting room, and plans for further growth.

The two are planning to offer a core list of everyday beers, along with several special and seasonal releases on rotation.

“We’re doing all different styles of ales and lagers, focusing on very palatable, good drinking beers,” Orsborn said. “We’ll have low ABV beers and some stronger ones, as well. Just a wide variety. That’s the goal.”

Before the opening date, which is planned for some time in March, the two have been busy brewing adequate reserves of beer, as well as renovating their new space to best fit their needs.

Their future plans include opening a kitchen within the first 12 months of operation. Until then, any food offerings will be provided by registered Chester County food trucks.
