Andiario is one of just three restaurants outside the city that Philadelphia magazine has included in its annual list of the 50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia.

Andiario – the upscale restaurant on West Gay Street in West Chester that offers seasonal, New American cuisine – is one of just three restaurants outside the city, and the only one in the western suburbs, that Philadelphia magazine has included in its annual list of the 50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia.

Andiario – “a Pennsylvania restaurant with an artisanal approach to cooking,” as stated on its website – ranked No. 12 on the list, which features restaurants almost exclusively within the city of Philadelphia.

Chef Anthony Andiario and his partner, Maria van Schaijik, moved to Chester County a few years ago to start their own restaurant, and from the very start, Andiario has managed to stand out of a crowded food scene by offering some of the best pasta around.

Chef Andiario earned his pasta education at the Arizona Culinary Institute and during shifts chopping garlic and parsley for $5 an hour at an Italian restaurant in Scottsdale.

Now, he has more than 60,000 followers on Instagram.
