RKL – one of the largest professional services firms in Pennsylvania – saw its revenues increase by more than 21 percent last year, partly due to the opening of a new office in the Exton Corporate Center, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The firm ranked 61st on Accounting Today’s list of the 100 largest accounting firms by revenue, up four places from last year. RKL’s significant growth in 2018 also earned it the 18th spot among the nation’s Top 20 fastest-growing firms.

RKL had $82.5 million in revenue in 2018, compared to $66 million the previous year and $62 million two years ago, and expects to hire 90 people within three to five years.

Barry Pelagatti, who has served the assurance and advisory needs of financial institutions in the Greater Philadelphia region for more than two decades, joined RKL in July 2017 and took the helm of its new Exton office when it launched in June 2018. So far, the office has a little more than 30 employees, but according to Pelagatti, they would like to have 40 to 50 people in the office within a year.

“We’ve had good success with people from banks,” said Pelagatti. “We’ve been doing a lot of marketing. We’ve become very involved with the Chester County Chamber (of Business and Industry), just so people are aware of our presence here and our capabilities.”
