A list of the Top 31 Halloween Haunts in America compiled by the Haunted Attraction Association shows that, if you want to get your scare on, Pennsylvania is the place to be, writes Michael Tanenbaum for PhillyVoice.
The Keystone State dominates the list of scary attractions with six entries.
The highest-ranked entry is Field of Screams in Lancaster at No. 6. The attraction turns every rural nightmare into reality through cornfields stalked by hideous creatures and a haunted house.
Haunted Hollow in Rockwood features an experimental asylum where residents have lost their sanity. Reaper’s Revenge in Scranton has more than 90 minutes of scare time across its four attractions.
Pittsburgh’s ScareHouse has clowns, demons, and hordes of walking dead who are guaranteed to elicit a scream or two. Shocktoberfest in Sinking Spring offers eight different stops, including a weekend haunted house that can be toured in underwear.
And Eastern State Penitentiary has a reputation that precedes it in Philadelphia.
