The AmerisourceBergen Foundation has broadened its efforts to curb opioid abuse with the creation of the Opioid Resource Grant Program.

The new program builds off the Foundation’s previous efforts to support nonprofits with innovative ideas. It aims to redefine best practices in the fight against opioid abuse.

Funding from the new program will be provided to organizations committed to pioneering new ideas. Priority will be given to proposals that address safe opioid disposal and education around prevention.

“The AmerisourceBergen Foundation is deeply committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to find ways to combat opioid abuse,” said Gina Clark, President of the AmerisourceBergen Foundation.

She said the new program will be led by a team of universally recognized experts in the treatment of opioid abuse. This ensures the Foundation will be better equipped to both support and partner with like-minded organizations.
