Regional firm Johnson & Johnson and California-based Gilead are seeing their market share for hepatitis C medication challenged by Express Scripts, the nation’s largest pharmacy benefits manager, David Sell of Philly.com is reporting.

Express Scripts plans to provide only one brand of hepatitis C medication (AbbVie‘s Viekira Pak) to most new patients in its employer-sponsored health plans. Sell reported Express Scripts has chosen sides in a free marketplace of pharmaceutical companies hoping to make money by treating about 200 million patients worldwide.
