It is one of the premier botanical gardens in the United States, and is open to visitors year-round to enjoy exotic plants and horticulture, events and performances, and seasonal and themed attractions.

Coordinator, School and Youth Division

This position reviews and works with senior leadership to implement the long-term strategy for the School and Youth Division. He/she leads daily operations of the division to ensure world-class delivery of Longwood’s curriculum-based K-12 educational programs, teacher training, teen volunteer program, and community outreach initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in education, child development, or a closely related field. He/she will have a minimum of five years of demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or administrator in a school, college, or university. The person will preferably have experience with educational technologies for online learning and with teaching across the curriculum.

Electronics Technician

This position performs installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of electrical control systems throughout the site, adhering to established safety and electrical regulations. He/she provides technical support for various programs, events, displays, and new construction projects. The person operates, maintains, and repairs the site power distribution system, lighting control and dimming system, all programming and display events, and more.

The ideal candidate will have completed an electronics trade school or electrical apprenticeship program. He/she will have a minimum of four years of experience as a controls technician. The person will have PLC experience and a strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA 1910S safety standards.

Mechanical Supervisor

This position provides daily supervision, mentoring, training, project management, and a cohesive, consolidated approach to the support of all mechanical activities. He/she manages the facility’s mechanical infrastructure in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The person is responsible for plumbing, boiler operations, steam and condensate systems, and HVAC.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or the equivalent training. He/she will have a minimum of five years of experience in supervision and mechanical maintenance management. The person will have proven knowledge in process control systems, building automation, piping materials and systems, and more.
