Located in West Chester, Barclay Friends was established in 1893 to serve the needs of older persons and is governed by a Board of Directors, half of whom are members of the Religious Society of Friends, or Quakers. Barclay Friends offers Residential Living, Personal Care, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Post-Acute Rehabilitation. Reflecting the Quaker concern for older people, its mission is to continuously improve care of the aging across the continuum of services provided.
Director of Nursing
This position assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility. In collaboration with Barclay Administration, he/she will allocate departmental resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. The person collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support, and coordinate resident care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of Barclay Friends.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field, and have three to five years of experience as a nurse manager in which potential administrative and supervisory competence has been demonstrated. He/she must be proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet.

Registered Nurse
This position promotes and restores resident health by providing nursing care as determined by the needs of the residents and their individual plans of care. He/she is responsible for completing daily care/medications and supervising staff members.
The ideal candidate will have graduated from an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing and have current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Professional Nurse. He/she must be proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of an electronic medical record system.

Resident Assistant
This position provides residents with quality care by providing physical, psychosocial, and social support according to Personal Care regulations and the standards set by Barclay Friends in the Assisted Living Building. He/she assists residents with daily living needs, activities, and waited dining service.
The ideal candidate must be willing to learn the state of Pennsylvania’s Personal Care regulations. He/she must maintain a pleasant manner and be capable of dealing with others in a cooperative manner. The person must possess current certification in CPR and First Aid.
