The Dish Highlights “Cider Culture” With New Publication

For all the cider lovers out there, Dish LLC is launching a new niche publication, aptly named Cider Culture.

The new magazine is designed to keep consumers updated on the latest in cider trends, destinations and news. The idea came after the company found that hometown roots and the regional varieties of cider resonate well with readers as ciders unique properties grow in popularity with foodies.

“It’s a delicious product that’s turning heads in the beverage world and has strong roots in my hometown of Gettysburg in Adams County, Pennsylvania,” said co-founder and co-owner of Dish LLC, Mary Bigham. “I’m enamored of the ciders in Pennsylvania and am impressed with the American cider industry growth as a whole. As a consumer, it has been difficult to find out the latest about ciders and has been a challenge to get my hands on new ciders to try, so it made sense to create a resource like Cider Culture.”

Bigham also pointed out that this is a great way to connect cider producers and provide them with a platform through which they can learn, share, and ultimately grow their business. By combining an educational and collaborative approach, the publication aims to help move the industry ahead.

The magazine is full of the latest information on current cider trends, as well as production technology and innovations provided by Penn State Extension and industry experts. With the new publication, cider enthusiasts will be able to find features on events, information and education about different regional cider styles and tastes as well as the latest cider destinations. It also includes a section on new cider recipes and cocktails to give its readers something new to try.

“The decision to collaborate with The Town Dish on Cider Culture was an easy one,” said Carla Snyder, Ag Entrepreneurship and Marketing Educator with the Penn State Extension Office. “Cider Culture combines the effortless appeal of their other products with easy-to-access educational information on the entire hard cider industry for consumers and producers.”

Snyder went on to add that “Cider Culture and our collaboration with The Town Dish is a great step in expanding our robust hard cider program at Penn State Extension.  Now cider apple growers, cider producers and those who love the beverage can all have one easy-to-access resource to what’s new in hard cider.”
