The YMCA of Greater Brandywine needs caring and skilled Childcare Program Supervisor and staff at their Brandywine branch in Coatesville to help engage our Coatesville School District elementary school students.

The YMCA’s childcare program provides children with a warm and supportive environment in which to grow and is designed to accommodate the needs of each individual child with experiences that foster development and build a positive sense of self-esteem.

As a YMCA Childcare Program Supervisor and Assistant, you are able to help develop the total child, with particular emphasis on educational, physical, emotional and social skills. Day to day duties include:

• Assisting the Childcare Site Director with planning and implementing all childcare activities
• Overseeing the safety and whereabouts of the children in the group at all times, providing a safe, interactive program
• Interacting with the children to encourage development and involvement in activities
• Mentoring children around the YMCA Core Values

The Program Supervisor should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education or Human Services field or an Associates degree in the same fields with a minimum of 2 years experience working with school age children.

The ideal Childcare Assistant candidate will be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma, a GED and/or college credits and at least 2 years of experience working with groups of school age children.

Both the Program Supervisor and Childcare Associates will be expected to maintain a current DHS file, undergo a physical, and obtain and then maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of being hired.
