This morning actor/director and New Jersey native Kevin Smith took to twitter to announce that principal photography for the sequel to his 1995 film ‘Mall Rats’ will begin in January at the Exton Square Mall.

Smith’s movies (‘Dogma’, ‘Clerks’, and ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’, etc.) are mostly nerdy comedies that trade on juxtaposing romantic elements alongside crude, ‘dude’ humor. Think ‘Dazed and Confused’, but directed by the last high school student who delivered you pizza.
Nevertheless, Smith has a large and dedicated community of fans across the globe who are going to see this movie. That all those people will see what a fine mall Exton Square is must count for something. Right?
