Traveling Golfers Gets a New Sponsor

Traveling Golfer television show has found a new sponsor in locally based Conestoga Bank.

Previously the sponsor of the GolfTalk Live radio show, the bank with 16 locations in the state, has joined Yuengling Brewery and Kutztown Auto as the only sponsors of both shows.

The bank, founded in 1888, has a strong history of community involvement in Philadelphia, with eight branches in Center City and South Philadelphia, plus a recent expansion into, amongst others, Chester, Montgomery and Delaware Counties.

“We are an active part of the community, so it makes sense to be part of a television show that also is part of the community,” said Jim Malloy, President of Commercial Banking of the sponsorship deal. “The reception of the Traveling Golfer show has been outstanding and the partnership helps us get our message out to a demographic that fits us.”

Two Daytime Saturday Chesco Bus Lines Terminating

5.14.2014 SCCOOTEffective July 11, the two Chescobus lines running during daytime Saturday will no longer be available.

The Transportation Management Association of Chester County announced the elimination of the Coatesville Link and the SCCOOT lines due to the reduction of local matching funding.

The Link transports about 5,500 to 6,000 people each month from Coatesville to Parkesburg, the SCCOOT line services around 800 riders per month from Oxford to West Chester.

In previous years, the city of Coatesville had contributed funding to TMACC with matching grants from the Chester County Commissioners but the majority of the funding used to come from PennDOT grants through SEPTA.

“We can’t afford to fund it,” said Coatesville City Council President Linda Lavender-Norris. “We decided to cut the funding for the Link, rather than impose another tax increase on the residents.”
