“We were looking for a location close to our current base and our workforce,” Brad Lloyd, the company’s director of Pennsylvania manufacturing and Americas service, told the Daily Local News for an article this week. “Chester County’s technology corridor and its skilled workforce attracted us to the Exton area. Our employee base is critical to our operations and our success.”

Those local employees develop and market computer-aided measurement and imaging devices and software for customers like Audi, Boeing, Caterpillar, Daimler AG, Ford, General Electric, Honda, NASA, Siemens, Volkswagen and even Jay Leno, who posted a YouTube video (below) featuring a FARO scanner used to help replicate rare antique auto parts.

The $15 million project was designed by Arcus Design Group of Malvern and is being constructed by The Norwood Co. with Forcine Concrete tilt-up panels.

“We hope this building signals the start of a commercial-industrial building boom,” said Charles Lyddane, a business partner in The Walters Co.
