This Berwyn Estate Is One of the Most Expensive Listings in Philadelphia Region’s History

The exterior of Agincourt, Lauren Wylonis' 18,000-square-foot Main Line estate, designed to look as though it has stood for centuries.

One of the Main Line’s signature luxury properties, a sweeping Berwyn estate known as Agincourt, has hit the market, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 106-acre property near Sugartown Road is listed for a whopping $28.95 million, one of the most expensive residential listings in region’s history.

Owner Lauren Wylonis, a forensic psychiatrist turned home designer, first discovered the land in 2011 when it was overgrown and nearly forgotten, once belonging to Alexandra Grange Hawkins, a descendant of the Mellon banking family.

She bought it, envisioned something extraordinary, and delivered that dream.

Through her firm KingsHaven Design, Wylonis, alongside Malvern-based builder Pohlig and Chadds Ford’s John Milner Architects, built the massive main house in 15 months. The result is a seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom stone residence built in the English Arts and Crafts style, designed to look like it had stood for centuries but outfitted with every modern luxury imaginable.

The home includes dramatic fireplaces, a detailed woodwork library, a movie theater, multiple entertaining areas, and an indoor pool. Outside, carefully landscaped gardens, terraces, and scenic views reinforce its secluded countryside atmosphere.

“There’s probably no other property like it at 106 acres; it’s basically a nature preserve,” said Wylonis. “We have deer, we have hawks, we have bald eagles, foxes, heron.”

Agincourt’s name is in reference to the famous 1415 battle of the Hundred Years’ War, further emphasizing its old-world kingly aesthetic.

The listing adds to the growing number of Chester County properties drawing attention across the region’s luxury real estate market.
