Chester County residents have no shortage of local bakeries to visit for delicious treats, write Dahlia Matzner and Sabrina Sucato for Main Line Today.
Here are five bakeries offering cupcakes, custom cake orders, savory pastries, and more.
Clay’s Bakery—Berwyn. Clay’s Bakery features a variety of cake options, winning a 2025 Best of the Main Line & Western Suburbs award for “Best Cakes.” The bakery offers both custom orders and ready-made cakes each day. The menu also includes cookies, brownies, and cupcakes.
Dia Doce—West Chester. A West Chester community favorite, Dia Doce offers unique cupcake flavors that rotate weekly. Cupcakes are made fresh each day with local ingredients. Recent flavors include banana cookie dough, s’mores, red velvet brownie, and a Shark Week-themed “Shark Attack Shortcake” cupcake.
Malvern Buttery—Malvern. With coffee, fresh-baked bread, and both sweet and savory pastries, Malvern Buttery offers something delicious for any foodie. Recent menu items include sticky buns, savory cheese & chive biscuits, cranberry orange tea cakes, and peach pound cake.
Yori’s Church Street Bakery—West Chester. For its seasonal and year-round treats, Yori’s received a well-deserved “Best Bakery” title for the 2025 Best of the Main Line & Western Suburbs awards. The local bakery is known for its cinnamon buns, coffee cake, and fruit pies, in addition to custom cake orders.
Sweet Zen Bakery—Malvern. Sweet Zen Bakery offers specialty cakes and cupcakes, as well as award-winning cinnamon rolls. Specialty cake flavors include chocolate peanut butter mousse, tiramisu, and carrot cake, alongside over ten flavors available for custom cake flavors and fillings.
