Warm Up This Winter with Hot Chocolate Across Chester County

It’s cold out there! Bundle up and find your way to some of the sweetest spots offering hot chocolate around Chester County.

Whether you make it with water or milk (the latter is superior), hot chocolate is the hit drink to warm your hands and your insides. Plenty of cafes make their own and add their special twist.

Here are the top five places to get your fix:

Gemelli Artisanal Gelato & Dessert CaféWest Chester. With locations in West Chester and Phoenixville, Gemelli not only offers delicious gelato, but also handcrafted coffee and hot chocolate. Its signature dark chocolate is made with local, organic milk.

Café com LeitePhoenixville. Cafe com Leite’s winter menu is out, and you’ll never guess what’s on the list. Its peppermint hot cocoa is made with dark mocha, Brazilian chocolate powder, and peppermint syrup.

The FarmhouseDowningtown. The Farmhouse Coffee & Espresso Bar makes its hot chocolate with dark chocolate sauce and steamed milk. It pairs well with one of the many pastry options, such as biscotti or a croissant.

Mayday Coffee Shop — West Chester. A popular option, you can also find peppermint hot chocolate at Mayday. With house-made mocha and peppermint syrup, they use West Chester’s Eclat cocoa powder and top it off with a candy cane.

Farmer & Co. — Unionville. With the holiday season in full swing, Farmer & Co. offers a variety of fun winter drinks as well as hot chocolate. Customize it your way with any of the house syrups or even add a shot of espresso.

Lastly, don’t be afraid to mix it up. Earl Grey hot chocolate, made by steeping Earl Grey tea in hot milk and adding cocoa powder, should be added to your next order.
