Five Chester County public high schools are among the top 25 in Pennsylvania for 2026, according to a new ranking recently released by Niche.
To determine the ranking for its 2026 Best Public High Schools in Pennsylvania list, Niche analyzed key statistics from data by the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews written by students and parents. The metrics used include state test scores, college readiness, graduation scores, teacher quality, and high school ratings.
Schools were graded using eight main categories. All schools in the top 25 list received an A+ or A grade overall.
For local schools, Conestoga Senior High School in Berwyn ranked highest in second place, with 97 percent graduation, 92 percent reading proficiency, and 97 percent math proficiency.
Downingtown STEM Academy came fifth with 95 percent graduation, 95 percent reading proficiency, and 95 percent math proficiency.
Unionville High School in Kennett Square is No. 12, with 98 percent graduation, 82 percent reading proficiency, and 85 percent math proficiency.
Great Valley High School in Malvern is next at No. 15 with 96 percent graduation. Downingtown High School East in Exton finishes the list at No. 30 with a 97 percent graduation.
