Chester County Makes List of Best Counties to Live In Pennsylvania
While some counties in the Northeast have experienced a population decrease in the past year according to recent Census data, there are still plenty of wonderful counties to live in this region. In a report by Stacker, utilizing rankings by Niche, Chester County has made the list of best counties to live in Pennsylvania.
Niche ranks counties by factors such as public schools, educational attainment, cost of living, and housing.
Coming in a No. 2 out of a list of 30 counties, Chester County was only beaten out by Montgomery County for the top spot.
With a population of 536,474, the median household income is $118,574. 75 percent of residents own their homes which are valued at a median of $435,000.
25 percent of resident rent and the median rent is $1,601.
In addition to housing, some of the top public schools in Chester County are Conestoga High School, Valley Forge Middle School, and the Downingtown STEM Academy, all of which received an A+ score from Niche. The top private schools, which also received an A+ ranking, are Westtown School, Malvern Preparatory School, and Church Farm School.

Other counties that made the list include Allegheny County at No. 3, Delaware County at No. 4, and Centre County at No. 5.
